Mom's Health Played Role in Doctor's Decision to Pursue Medical Degree

Dr. Anna-Belle Robertson Now Seeing Patients in Rome

Mom's Health Played Role in Doctor's Decision to Pursue Medical Degree.

ROME, Ga., Aug. 11, 2023 – Dr. Anna-Belle Robertson said her own mother's health issues played a role in her desire to become a doctor.

“My interest in medicine first started with my mom's diagnosis with hypertension (high blood pressure) and its progression to congestive heart failure due to nonadherence with her medications," Robertson said. “I was inspired to pursue medicine to help patients like my mother."

She is now seeing patients at Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care Internal & Family Medicine, 123 Three Rivers Drive, in Rome.

“I understand that patients come to me in a very vulnerable time in their lives, very difficult time. And I just think it's really fulfilling for me personally to be able to help people in that way," Dr. Robertson said.

“I view each patient as I would my family members. I bring that same level of interest and that same care to each patient that I see as I would my own family members," she said.

Her clinical interests include preventive health and chronic disease management with a special interest in obesity medicine, headaches and drug-resistant high blood pressure.

In her free time, Dr. Robertson enjoys running outdoors, road cycling, hiking, landscape and lifestyle photography, and having dinner out with family and friends. She is married and has two young children.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Obesity Medicine Association, the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care Internal & Family Medicine is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 706-295-3961 to make an appointment.
