Price estimates
Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic offers several tools to estimate your out-of-pocket hospital costs for common medical procedures and tests. This information can help you, in partnership with your care team, make informed decisions about your health care.
The estimates we provide are based on your insurance information. You can also use our tools to estimate hospital costs if you don’t have insurance coverage.
We provide price estimates to follow the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) hospital price transparency requirements [PDF]. Read our price estimates policy in English [PDF] or Spanish [PDF].
Get a price estimate
We offer two ways to receive a price estimate:
- Call us: Our representatives can give you a price estimate and answer any questions you have about paying for your care. Call us at 706-509-3277.
- Use our online tool: Our Online Cost Estimation Tool is part of the MyAtriumHealth patient portal. You can use the online estimator tool as a guest or sign in to your account.
To calculate the most accurate price estimate, we will need the following information:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Contact information
- Insurance plan and number
- Procedures to be performed
Please note that the cost estimate does not include:
- Unexpected costs: Your final bill may include additional costs not in your original price estimate. This may happen because of complications, additional treatments needed or other special circumstances.
- Physician costs: The cost estimate does not include physician charges. You will receive a bill directly from your physician and other specialists involved in your care, including anesthesiologists, pathologists and radiologists.
Standard charges
CMS also requires hospitals to provide a downloadable list of standard charges for each of its facilities. These files include gross costs (full list price) and charges we have negotiated with insurance companies.
Read our Understanding Pricing Guide [PDF] to learn more about standard charges.
Download the standard charges files:
- Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Medical Center [CSV]
- Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center [CSV]
- Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center [CSV]
Please note:
- The downloadable files are large and not easily interpreted.
- The charges are current as of the date indicated in each tab file header. Changes made after that date may not be reflected in the files until the next annual update.
- The listed charges are not equal to the actual amount paid by insurance companies. Therefore, each patient's financial responsibility may vary. The amount a patient pays depends on many factors, including health insurance, benefit plans, discounts and services provided. It is unlikely that your final bill will exactly match the prices listed.
- We review our charges annually to ensure they reflect the high-quality care we provide. Our charges may be different from other providers due to a different level of care or unique clinical expertise.
- We work with patients, providers and partners to lower health care costs. Some of our strategies include wellness programs and disease management.
Frequently asked questions
You are responsible for payment if you don’t have insurance or your insurance does not cover a service or procedure. To assist patients, we offer:
- Financial assistance for patients who demonstrate a financial need
- Payment plans
- Uninsured discount of 50% off the total charges

Each service or item listed is the same amount. However, the charges may vary for each person and each procedure. Therefore, the total charges could vary between two people having the same procedure.
For example, the total charges for a surgical procedure might vary between two people due to:
- Complications that arise
- Length of recovery
- Medications required during and after surgery
- Unexpected treatments needed
There are several factors that determine your total out-of-pocket cost for your health care, including:
- Type of insurance you have
- Whether you have secondary or supplemental insurance
- Whether your insurance plan covers the medical service
We recommend calling your insurance company before receiving care, when possible, to get a general idea of your out-of-pocket costs. Your insurer can help you understand how your coverage and deductibles work.
Always ask your insurance carrier if the procedure or service your health care provider ordered:
- Is a covered service
- Requires prior authorization (if yes, check with your provider to make sure they have obtained authorization)
