We believe students learn best when they are well. They are more likely to choose to live in our communities and become leaders here when they have a solid educational base that is connected to employers and business leaders.

As the Official Health Care Partner of local schools, colleges and universities in our community, we’ve invested more than $7 million in both public and private schools, with the goals of improving and maintaining the health of young learners, and creating educational and career pathways for students in our community.

Students, their families and school faculty and staff directly benefit from a wide range of our services, programs and resources because of these partnerships.

What services do we provide?

Elementary & high schools

We provide school nurses and certified athletic trainers to Floyd County Schools, Polk School District, Rome City School District and Darlington School, as well as certified athletic trainers to high schools in Trion, Bartow County, Chattooga County and at Unity Christian.

We work closely with college and career academy administrators and students in those systems to provide enhanced education and job opportunities through job fairs, mentorships, volunteer programs, guest speakers and work-based learning options.

From on-site telehealth services at 47 school sites to our full-service, school-based clinic at Rome High School College and Career Academy and EMS coverage at school and athletic events, students and faculty have seamless access to our full complement of services.

Colleges & universities

We have relationships with area colleges and universities, providing scholarships, advisory services, clinical training and athletic training to student athletes.

The College of Health Sciences and Department of Nursing at Georgia Highlands College are named for Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic.

Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic is the Official Health Care Sports Medicine Provider for Berry College athletics. We have donated $2 million from the Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation to Berry College to assist in constructing a health sciences building that will house a physician assistant program.

We provide athletic trainers to Berry College and Shorter University student athletes. Nursing students at those colleges shadow our nurses and gain valuable in-hospital experience with us as part of their clinical training.

Our partnership with Georgia Northwestern Technical College builds on the successes already established with the medical office assistant, nursing assistant, radiologic technology and respiratory therapy programs. Working together, we are creating opportunities for clinical experiences and a pipeline for careers in these and other health occupations fields. This partnership ensures we will continue to onboard highly skilled teammates to live up to our mission of healing for all.
