Nurse Practitioner in Taylorsville Treats Patients of All Ages

ROME, Ga., Nov. 13, 2024 – Teri Jackson, a family nurse practitioner said, her interest in medicine began when she started taking care of her parents, who had her late in life.

She also provided care for newborns and new moms as a nurse at Atrium Health Floyd Women's Care Family Birth Center. She is accepting new patients at Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care Family Medicine in Taylorsville and treats people of all ages.

“My philosophy stems from just listening to the patient, developing that relationship where they trust you, and you actually listen to their concerns and never just sweep something under the rug," Jackson said.

It is important to listen to patients, she said, because “they know their body better than I do."

Jackson said also tries to get some smiles from her patients when it is appropriate.

“My personality is very light-hearted. I try to meet patients where they are," she said. “I think that even when patients are sick, that makes them feel better.

Jackson received her Master of Science in nursing from Kennesaw State University and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Shorter University.
