Ed McBride, MD

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ed McBride is responsible for quality and safety, credentialing/medical staff services, clinical informatics, risk management, compliance and infection control.

Dr. McBride began his career as a family medicine practitioner with Floyd Primary Care in Armuchee. Dr. McBride has served as the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Harbin Clinic since 2015. His prior experience includes serving as vice president of clinical services for Summit Strategic Solutions and Summit Medical Group in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he provided leadership in Summit's transformation to a value-based care delivery system.

At Summit, Dr. McBride was responsible for clinical oversight of care coordination, health education, patient experience, quality reporting and improvement, and direct supervision of six regional medical directors. Dr. McBride has served on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee Health Information Network and as a delegate to the Tennessee Medical Association. Nationally, Dr. McBride serves as a member of the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

Dr. McBride attended Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee, and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed an internship and residency at Carilion Health Systems in Roanoke, Virginia, and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
