Supporting Heyman HospiceCare ensures this legacy of compassionate end-of-life care will continue for years to come.
Floyd Healthcare Foundation’s summer camp is a place where kids with diabetes can be a big deal instead of their disease being the big deal.
Founded in 1979 by a small group of visionary local citizens, Floyd Healthcare Foundation has become an integral part of Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center, working tirelessly to raise private funds for the hospital and to support health-related programs in our community.
Over the years, Floyd Healthcare Foundation has provided significant support through capital campaigns and endowments for vital medical equipment, transformational building projects and community health care programs.
$370,000, Completed 2022
Donations will help provide safe reliable transportation for sick and premature infants by purchasing a custom-built specially-equipped ambulance for Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) patients. As the area's only Level III NICU, Floyd is a destination hospital for infants needing higher level neonatal care. Maintaining a timely response to neonatal transport requests is a critical component to achieving optimal patient outcomes. The new vehicle will have adequate space for the transport and treatment of twins or a baby and mother all in the same ambulance. It will also have space to safely transport up to four crew members providing specialized care as well as three family members.
$500,000, 2018–2020
The upgraded mobile unit gives women access to screening mammograms at their place of work, physician's office, health department and other community locations.
$200,000, 2020
As the COVID pandemic continues to affect our community, Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center has quickly adapted to our changing reality to meet the health care needs of our community. Funds raised through the COVID Essential Needs Fund continue to provide support and care.
$2 million, 2015-2018
About 300 babies each year require advanced medical treatment in Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). High-risk babies do best when they can develop in a warm, calm and comforting place, much like a mother’s womb. Providing an environment where these newborns can heal while bonding with their families helps them grow, gain weight, improve and thrive. Campaign funds were used to renovate the Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center NICU to provide optimal development of premature infants, family-centered care, improved privacy and leading-edge equipment.
2012-2014
Following the initiation of the management agreement with Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center, Floyd Healthcare Foundation worked to establish a Polk SPIRIT Committee for employee giving and other fundraising committees to gain community support for the hospital.
