Free mental health screening

Our behavioral health team provides confidential mental health screenings free of charge. Your insurance will not be billed.

Inpatient hospitalization

The inpatient facility at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Behavioral Health provides a safe, comfortable place to heal. Our team helps people change their behavior and acquire skills to cope with everyday stressors. As a short-stay hospital, we enable people to move to a less intensive setting to continue treatment.

Our facility features a cafeteria with specialized menus, education and visitor rooms, private patient rooms and spaces for quiet reflection. We accept both voluntary and involuntary admissions for people struggling with escalating psychiatric issues.

Partial hospitalization program (PHP)

Partial hospitalization supports people as they transition out of inpatient care. It also helps those who need more intensive treatment than our outpatient program provides. Within the PHP, people meet for four treatment hours a day, five days a week. Treatments may include group, individual and family therapy sessions, supervised by a psychiatrist.

Adult mental health and substance abuse PHP

Many adults with a mental health condition may also experience substance use disorder and addiction. The professionals in our combined mental health and substance abuse treatment center can determine where a specific symptom originates and tailor a treatment plan. Participants often benefit from the treatment, structure and support our adult program provides.
