Palliative care treatments and therapies
Our providers use a variety of treatments and therapies to relieve symptoms and improve your quality of life. Treatment may include pain and anti-nausea medications, antidepressants, massage, acupuncture, heat or ice therapy. We also offer counseling and spiritual support services to enhance your mental and emotional health.
Palliative care typically begins in the hospital and continues after discharge. We help you find the best possible setting for continued care and refer you to ongoing care resources.
What you’ll find at Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic
Our palliative care services aim to improve the quality of life for people living with serious or life-limiting illnesses. Palliative care is not hospice. It can be provided at any stage of your illness, alongside curative medical treatments.
Integrated team approach
You receive palliative care from a specially trained team of doctors, nurses and other specialists. They work together to provide physical, emotional and spiritual aid during an illness. Massage therapists, pharmacists, nutritionists and chaplains may also be part of your care team.
