Immediate care/urgent care

Urgent care providers can help you with serious medical issues that aren’t life-threatening but could become worse if not treated quickly. You can reserve your spot online or walk right in for care for minor illnesses and injuries seven days a week.

Our immediate care/urgent care locations employ highly educated health care providers. Your nearest clinic may have either “immediate care” or “urgent care” in its name. Either way, you can feel confident knowing the world-class care of Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic is available to you when you need it.

When to go to immediate care/urgent care

You can find care for health issues that occur before or after your primary care provider’s normal business hours, or if your usual provider is not available.

Getting care from your primary care provider has advantages because they know you and your medical history. But when they’re not available, seeking treatment at an immediate care/urgent care clinic can save you time and money and help you feel better fast.

If your condition worsens, urgent care staff can ensure seamless care by referring you to an Atrium Health Floyd emergency department along with all their notes about your condition and results from any lab work.

When you reserve a spot for urgent care online, we provide estimated wait times. Your actual wait time could be longer or shorter depending on your symptoms and the symptoms of other patients.

Decide whether you need urgent care or emergency care.

If you or a loved one has difficulty breathing, symptoms consistent with stroke or heart attack, or a life- or limb-threatening condition, call 911 immediately.

Virtual options for urgent care

Sometimes the best choice for urgent care is a virtual care option that’s available from the comfort of your own home.

E-visits

To see if an e-visit is right for you based on your symptoms, you can start by answering a few questions in Symptom Checker.

Urgent care video visits

Connect with an expert medical provider for urgent care online to have a face-to-face video visit for non-life-threatening medical symptoms right away.

Advantages of immediate care/urgent care

  • Quicker access to care for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries

Staff at immediate care/urgent care centers can also perform X-rays and do lab testing for common illnesses such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), strep throat, flu, RSV and COVID. Performing these procedures onsite gives us quick access to results.
